Queens Borough Hall is a 191,000-square-foot, five-story building built in 1940. The six-year multi-phased renovation allowed for the relocation of the Department of Buildings, the Queens District Attorney, and the Departments of Transportation, Environmental Protection, and Housing Preservation to a single location.

The 140-foot-long corridors are relieved by alcoves that serve as waiting rooms and a superimposed grid pattern on the floor and ceiling. The marble and wood panels lining the corridors provide handsome and durable surfaces that withstand high traffic.
